PROTECTING OUR WATER SOURCE

The Village of Russells Point has implemented and is continuing to implement protective strategies to protect the Village's sour of drinking water from contamination.  This notice is to help educate the public of the importance of protecting our source water.

Working with ODOT and the Ohio EPA, the Village has installed signs throughout the Village reading, "Drinking Water Protection Area Report Spills 1-800-282-9378".  These signs are intended to help protect our drinking water source.  If you see a possible spill, please report the spill by calling the number listed on the sign.

UTILITY RATE CHANGES - effective January 2023

Beginning with the January 2023 billing cycle, utility rates will be increasing due to inflation and to provide for capital improvements to our aging water and storm water lines.  The village has seen up to a 30% increase in costs in supplies, materials, and chemicals required to operate and maintain the water plant and distribution lines.

Knowing that all our residents have also recognized increased costs, the board agreed to only increase the water usage rate by 17% or $1.00 per 1,000 gallons of usage - the minimum charge will remain the same.  This is the first increase since June of 2021.
