The Indian Joint Fire District proudly serves the Village of Russells Point and Washington Township, providing essential fire protection and emergency response services for our community. Staffed by dedicated and trained volunteer firefighters, the district stands ready 24/7 to protect lives, property, and the natural beauty of our lakeside village.

Our Mission

The mission of the Indian Joint Fire District is to protect life and property from fire, medical, and other emergenciesthrough prompt and professional response. Our firefighters work tirelessly to respond to fires, rescue calls, vehicle accidents, and other urgent incidents — always with a focus on safety, preparedness, and compassion.

What We Do

Fire Suppression & Rescue

Our team responds quickly to structural and brush fires to minimize damage and risk to residents, visitors, and surrounding properties.

Emergency Response

In addition to fire calls, we lend assistance during motor vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, hazardous conditions, and other crises requiring trained first responders.

Public Education & Prevention

We believe in empowering our community through education on fire safety, smoke alarm installation, escape planning, and emergency preparedness. Fire prevention is just as important as fire response.
