Community Events
Russells Point isn’t just a place to live, it’s a community that thrives on events, traditions, and lake-life celebrations. From boating shows to fireworks over the water, here’s a calendar list of our most beloved annual events.
HarborFest – Downtown Russells Point (AUGUST)
The Village’s biggest annual celebration. HarborFest transforms the Russells Point harbor and downtown area into a weekend of:
- Wacky Boat Races
- Wacky Desk Chair Races
- Duck Slide on the harbor
- Craft & vendor tents
- Classic car Cruise-In
- Outdoor concerts
- Night Moves 5K (begins/ends in Russells Point)
This is Russells Point’s flagship community festival and one of the largest volunteer-driven events in the region.
Russells Point Police Department Easter Egg Hunt (April)
Hosted at the Russells Point municipal building and village greenspace. This is a beloved family tradition with hundreds of eggs, giveaways, and visits from the Easter Bunny.
Village Cleanup Day (Spring)
A community beautification day organized by Village leadership to prepare parks, streets, and public spaces for the busy lake season. Residents volunteer to help plant flowers, clean the shoreline, and refresh the harbor area.
JR Memorial “Cruise for a Cure” at Lulu’s (June)
Hosted at Lulu’s at the Lake in Russells Point. This charity boat cruise and celebration raises funds for cancer research and regularly brings hundreds of visitors to the Village harbor area.
LIGHT UP THE LAKE - FIREWORKS OVER THE HARBOR (JULY)
Russells Point serves as one of the most popular viewing locations for Indian Lake’s annual Fourth of July fireworks. The Village’s waterfront, bridges, and harbor fill with spectators enjoying the spectacular over-the-water display.
Harbor Ice Cream Social (July)
Hosted at the Russells Point Harbor by local business partners, this event brings families together for ice cream, games, and live music right on the waterfront.
“TRUNK-OR-TREAT” (OCTOBER)
Organized by Village staff, the Police Department, and local businesses, Trunk-or-Treat takes place in the Russells Point municipal parking lot. Residents decorate their vehicles, kids trick-or-treat safely, and the village provides refreshments and seasonal activities.
FALL COMMUNITY CLEANUP DAY (OCTOBER/NOVEMBER)
A late-season cleanup to prepare for winter and support the marina and harbor areas after a busy summer.
CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING (DECEMBER)
Held in the village harbor area or near the municipal offices (depending on the year). Residents gather for:
- The official lighting of the Russells Point Christmas Tree
- Hot chocolate and cookies
- Visits from Santa
- Caroling or music provided by local church partners
- This event kicks off the holiday season in classic small-town style.
