6th Annual Russells Point Safety Town
Safety Town provides instruction to pre-school children starting kindergarten in the fall of 2016. The program includes pedestrian safety, traffic signals and signs, fire safety, good and bad touch, getting in cars with strangers, and the hazards of drugs among other things. The Russells Point Police Department will also be adding gun safety, boating, water, and park safety. Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Officers will be teaching proper fishing techniques. Each participant will leave with a new fishing pole.
Instructors are trained Officers from the Russells Point Police Department, Logan County Children Services, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft, and Indian Lake State Parks.
All sessions will be held at the Russells Point Municipal Building at 433 State Route 708 in Russells Point. Classes last approximately two hours and are held Monday through Friday on June 13th-17th with both 9:00-11:00 am and 1:00-3:00 pm sessions available. Parents may attend sessions with their children as needed or desired and should inform the instructor of their intent.
The program is held for children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall. Also, copies of the registration will be available at the Russells Point Municipal Building. Please note any time or day when your child can NOT attend.
The classes are available for all Indian Lake pre-kindergarten students and the registration may be completed below, or a paper registration can be picked up at the Russells Point Municipal Building.
